You Are Not
Alone
If you have a hearing loss, you are not alone. The United
States Government estimates that there are more than 21 million
people in this country who experience some type of hearing
impairment. About 10 percent of these people can be helped with
medical or surgical intervention. Many more can be helped with
hearing aids.
Here is what some of our patients have had to
say about their experiences with hearing
instruments.
I started
losing my hearing relatively young. I heard of the new digital type
hearing aids and that they were much better, though I was dubious. I
can’t put into words the joy they have brought me. I think I hear
very near normal. I race horses in endurance (50 mile) races. I
couldn’t hear before the race at the map reading where we were to
go, nor could I hear people riding next to me. My husband was
getting more and more frustrated. TheseReSound, digital
hearing aids are the greatest gift I’ve had. I really hear
everything! God bless the inventors!

For ten years my hearing had been diminishing. I
finally made an appointment out of embarrassment. I went to a
lecture and couldn’t hear a thing. I was waving my arm wildly to
indicate that I couldn’t hear and could the lecturer speak louder,
when I noticed that other people were listening intently. I turned
to my neighbor and asked if she was having trouble hearing. Giving
me a weird look, she replied not at all. My hand immediately came
down and I sat there not understanding a word for three hours.
My new hearing aids are so comfortable that I forget that
they are in my ears. Having hearing aids has restored a part of my
life that I missed. I go out more frequently and am engaged with
what I am hearing rather than sitting there and fretting about what
I an not hearing. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the
courteous and friendly atmosphere of your office and your concern
about my wellbeing in regards to my hearing.

I wanted to drop you a note to thank
you for recommending these hearing devices. They have made such a
difference! I no longer have to strain to hear in restaurants, at
work or at home…I guess you could say I no longer have to strain to
hear. Nor am I shocked any longer by hearing things people did not
say. I had no idea that I was wearing myself out with this daily
struggle. This was one of the best investments I have ever made.

My new digital hearing
aids have truly changed my life. For the first time in many years I
am able to understand my wife, (even when she walks into the other
room and puts her head in a closet when speaking to me)… Once again
I am comfortable in social situations. I do not have to guess what
has been said and therefore I avoid some very inappropriate comments
and the resulting embarrassment. Acquaintance no longer treat me as
though I were in advance stages of senility. The challenge of dining
in restaurants has been met by these magical aids. (They) allow me
to converse with my dining partner and understand the server. The
joy of attending symphony concerts has been returned to my life. The
music once again sparkles.
